Pins are used to intervene or categorize the dendritic model in maps, veins and roots by marking specific points where the dendrite breaks and reforms. Because viral spread has now made much travel unviable, I’ve been looking at people as pins on a map. With this sentiment in mind, I marked various parks within walking distance in Schöneberg with pins and left them there. Fat tree trunks started to look like acupuncture patients and the groups of pins blurred together with growing moss. In their documentary photos, it’s often difficult to distinguish where the metal begins or ends.
